The Moral Of The Story Is ..

Ignoring warning signs

When it comes to warning signs we can find them on road sides related to the speed limits , or in buses and trains declaring "no smoking zones" or "Caution ! wet floor" signs in a mall or while writing a post in your blog you get a sign "An error occurred while trying to save or publish your post. Please try again. (Ignore warning). " We all happen to read them every time but never pay attention to it or follow it. Its human nature to ignore things until they get worse.

But Certain signs come from the inside, which we say our inner voice, gut feeiling, just before doing something we realise whether its right or not. We use it daily in many different ways, taking it completely for granted; yet it’s not an ordinary thing! It is the basis of our clarity, our morality and, to a large degree, the success or failure of our efforts.

Like An angerholic  hears the internal voice telling him to stop being angry, harming his body, hurting others and being addicted to the habit, but then ignores the voice or drowns it out. This only adds to the inner disharmony already present and both self-respect and self-esteem are slowly reduced.
Yet we pay less attention to our inner-self.

These are certain questions we must ask ourselves-

Have you ever ignored your inner voice?

Did you do something even after having the gut feeling that it's not right?
Did you stop yourself when your instinct didn't justify your action?
Have you ever felt a conflict between expressing your concerns or keeping quiet?

Here's a story answering these questions.

The story

There was a girl named Renne who was very intelligent, intellectual and spiritual. She believed in the theory of karma in a way like newton's law- every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Similarily she believed in the karma of this life and the fruits of her karma of her previous lives.
Once her family  planned for a trip to some place. She was not that interested in going maybe she wasn't fond of travelling or she just wanted to spend her vacation lazying around. Since the whole family was really excited about it, she agreed for her family's happiness and didn't show her disinterest . The tickets got booked and all preparations were made.

As soon as they reached the airport, their flight  got delayed for a few minutes, then for a few hours and finally got cancelled. Then she thought maybe it was a sign that they shouldn't be going for the trip. Her intuition tried to get her to choose another path.  Her inner knowing wanted her to get off at the nearest exit. She ignored it.

And they got tickets for another flight. Still she wasn't feeling the excitement and spoke to her mom. Her mom said " There isn't anything like that, just because the flight got cancelled you shouldn't feel sad and drown your enthusiasm." Renne agreed with what her mother said.

When they boarded the alternate flight something went wrong with the flight and it took 20-30 minutes of time.Again she felt nervous. As if God is sending her signs to get off the flight immediately. But she disregarded the signs she was given.

Then the flight took off , everything was smooth and soon they landed to their destination. It was a hill station so it required a couple of hours of road journey to reach their Hotel. Everybody in the family was full of enthusiasm and was having fun.But still she wasn't feeling well. As if they're making a mistake, a big, fat mistake . Or maybe it was just car sickness.

Suddenly their car went off speeding , the driver lost control and the car fell in the valley.

The whole family even the driver couldn't survive.

Renne ignored her intuition and it had a monumental impact .She got signs at every step but she ignored them all . Its essential  not only be in touch with your truth or inner self, but to trust your gut and act on it.Its rightly said "Apprehensions are Not Butterflies."

It is  important to listen to the inner voice. The messages your conscience wants to share with you carry considerable consequences.
‘Always let your conscience be your guide.’

  1. Well, that was scary!!

It happens most of the time but it depends if you are alone or with someone.
If you are alone then you will listen to your gut feeling and take steps accordingly but if you are with some one then you will not have full control over the things until you brag about it.

Let's take an example: Three friends boards a train or bus without ticket, two have gut feeling that they will not get caught and they will step out of bus/train before TC arrives but the third one has gut feeling that TC will directly come to them by ignoring other people and penalize them.

The outcome of boarding a bus/train without ticket can be any of the two situation but it depends whose gut feeling is more strong.

And more importantly, one has to speak out about their wit so that others can know about it.
